School of Communication Scholarships

Below are several scholarships available to incoming and current students who select a major in the School of Communications. Find eligibility requirements, applications, and due dates here.

 

Michael B. Bingman Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Michael B. Bingman Scholarship Fund provides for an annual scholarship or scholarships and is available to School of Communications graduate students pursuing any of our five graduate degree programs. Scholarships are are based on merit and demonstrated financial need. This award is intended to be in addition to other financial assistance to which recipients are entitled. The scholarship amounts and number of awards will vary from year to year.

2022-2023 - Two graduate students will each receive an award of $4,668

Nancy Anne Underwood Photography Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to full-time Webster students majoring in photography in the School of Communications. Applicants must be of junior or senior status during the year of receipt and possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Applicants must have a free application for federal financial aid (FAFSA) on file in Webster's financial aid office.


2022-2023 - One award of $4,256

James H. Wilson II Endowed Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any student enrolled in the School of Communications, full- or part-time. Applicants must be of sophomore, junior or senior status during the year of receipt. Priority consideration is given to students who have lived in the St. Louis area for at least four years and who have a demonstrated financial need.

2022-2023 - One award of $4,692
Deadline for application submission: April 19, 2022

Elva Norman Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established to assist women pursuing a degree in communications, either full- or part-time. Applicants must be non-traditional female students aged 25 and above who have achieved junior or senior status the year of receipt.


2022-2023 - One award of $2,033
Deadline for application submission: April 19, 2022

 

The Raymond J. Smith Scholarship

This scholarship is in memory and celebration of Ray by his colleagues and is intended to encourage diversity, equity, and inclusion in advertising, marketing, and the creative media industry. Open to all School of Communications students with a purpose to help feed a diverse pipeline of future professionals in the creative industry; a preference may be given to advertising/marketing students.

Jack Galmiche Endowed Scholarship

Offered to students who are enrolled in a for-credit internship course and who accept an offered internship, may be granted a tuition scholarship of value up to equal the then current per-credit hour tuition rate for up to three credit hours (currently $1,350). The internship may be completed in either semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.
