Being Prepared for Class

Starting new classes can be both exciting and stressful.

However, if you are prepared before, during, and after your classes, you will have no sweat acing your classes and achieving good grades!

Before

~Homework! (You can do it! Take breaks when needed.) It helps to know what will probably take you the longest and get that out of the way first!

~Know what you need to do in order to feel confident and ready for class.

My tip!

I’ve been keeping a planner since I was in middle school so of course I’m bias, but I write e v e r y t h i n g down. You’ll never regret writing too much down, right? So grab a blank notebook or journal, piece of paper and write down the dates for the week/month and write everything down! (Everything = due dates, assignments, reminders, etc)

During

~Take notes - even if you think you’re not a forgetful person, you never want to regret not writing something down when it comes up later!

~Stay organized!! Keep your papers/notes/assignments for each class separate if you can!

My tip!

Those 3-subject notebooks that have dividers (bonus points if the dividers double as folders) are perfect for keeping everything in one place but organized at the same time.

~Lessen distractions for yourself by --putting your phone away-- or whatever else during class. I know, I know, but let your brain focus on what needs to be focused on! You’ll have time to look at it later.

After

~Write down any and all assignments that are due the next class.

~If a professor EVER mentions a date for a test or project, etc then WRITE IT DOWN! (Especially if a date changes!!)

~Always try your best to make things easy for your future self. (You’ll thank yourself later!)

And of course…..STAY ORGANIZED!!
